Lifestyle Improvement through Food and Exercise (LIFE) is a randomized controlled trial sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). Rush University Medical Center has the opportunity to study how to best help African Americans who are living with type-2 diabetes self-manage their condition. LIFE is a behavioral intervention that aims to lower HbA1c levels in effort to reduce long-term diabetes complications.​
